I find something confusing.

They measure a baby’s head after birth. I understand why. However, they’ll measure a baby after a c-section and say “oh he’d never have fit through your pelvis”… do they not remember that a baby’s head molds through the birth canal??

My 2nd – his head measured 38cm. A very, VERY easy birth at home, on a birth stool. He felt easier to push out than his brother who was 2lbs smaller, with a SMALLER head.

What would have that “large” head have measured if he’d been a c-section and been un-molded?

That’s how I felt!!

I had about 3 weeks of prodromal labor with my second. The waves were SO uncomfortable. Which scared me because I thought my HB just wasn’t working. They were frustratingly close together but not “baby-getting”. I think there was a big emotional block (our house wasn’t finished, and people were there that I didn’t WANT there) and a week after it was done and they left, my waves turned into baby-getting ones and they felt GREAT! So different. And just like it says in the scripts, my HB DID work for me when it was time for my baby to be born.
my waves were probably uncomfortable because i wasn’t allowing my body to just do what it needed. i was “holding back” and “holding” my baby in.

This is easy to guage especially with moms on hands and knees, there is a line that appears and grows the more dilated a mom is. A nice non-invasive way to guesstimate how dilated a mom is!
