I live in Japan, and at 30 weeks the doctor was already talking about needing to perform an external cephalic version at 34 weeks if the baby didn’t turn soon. I didn’t want to have that procedure, and I definitely didn’t want to hear any more about c- sections from the doctor. I was a breech baby, and my mother had had to have an unexpected c-section when I was born.

So, I bought the mp3 of the Turn Your Breech Baby track and listened to it 2 times before bed. After listening the 2nd time, I awoke in the middle of the night with the baby moving a lot more than usual, and more powerfully than usual. I wondered if the baby might have turned already, but I wasn’t sure! A few days later I went to see my midwives, and they confirmed that the baby had turned, and was in the head-down position! I was so relieved and empowered by the whole experience. Since that time, my baby has remained head-down, and I am on track to have a natural child birth at a midwife-run birthing center in Tokyo.
