Beautiful! What a gifted woman. I just finished reading Ina May Gaskin’s Guide to Childbirth and she talks about how singing is supposed to be great for opening the cervix and relaxing a woman. It must really work to relax a person. I think I would be too self aware to sing by myself…maybe if everyone sang with me though!
If you were to sing right now, yes, you might be too self aware. But during a birth, you are much more in touch with your primal self rather than your analytical self. Singing is like a friend, and women often feel more comfortable singing than making random grunting noises!
